Spending the Morning with Sammy

Margaret and I had a wonderful day yesterday afternoon. We got to watch Sammy while Amy took Jack down to the library for story time. Sammy sure is growing, but as you can see, I had a hard time getting a photo of him smiling. It seems that every time he saw me coming with the camera, he would look away or frown.

It is so good to see others POSTING on our family blog. I really enjoy reading the updates and comments that everyone makes. Take care and may the Lord continue to bless each and everyone of you.

This Month is Almost Over

It's hard to believe this month is almost over. L.J. is doing great in school, and slowly learning how to read. Ziana is being a normal 3 year old, and loving her daddy. Jacin is working like a mad man, all the time and his unit is getting ready to go back overseas to Iraq. I am trying to keep up with all the house work, MOPS, the PTA board.... Were looking forward to seeing everyone at the family reunion. Take care all, and God Bless. Tina, and family

Brown Family Update

Hello family,
It's been a while since I blogged... Wes just finished swim team and has finally got some spare time between school and boyscouts. He's working on his Life Scout badge right now. Courtney is training her Sheltie, Brooke, in agility and the two of them are loving that. Courtney also plays basketball and has games every Saturday afternoon. Jessica is getting mostly all A's in middle school and can usually be found texting her friends or listening to her ipod. Jim's been installing a few wood and gas stoves and cleaning the occasional chimney. He also has been spending a lot of time on Ancestry.com working on his family tree. Jim's mom, Georgia, fell and broke her femur a couple of weeks ago and I have been spending a lot of time over at her house helping her. I haven't had a lot of time to blog or even read the blog for a while, sorry. We are all healthy now. It seemed for a while one of us was fighting off one bug or another or just passing it around for a few weeks. Well, I guess I better get going. Take care,
Love Marty, Jim, Wes, Jessica, & Courtney

Lovely Day in Florence!

Margaret and I just got back from a wonderful two day stay on the Oregon coast. We stayed at a motel in Florence where we spent time just relaxing and hanging out at Three River's Casino and visiting all of the small shops in old town.

The picture above was taken on the beach in Winchester Bay. It was such a lovely day on the coast. It was nice just to relax and walk along the beach, just enjoying each others company.

On the way home we drove by Dean Creek, along Highway 38, where we noticed several of the Roosevelt Elk grazing near the viewing area.

"HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY"

The new picture is of the completed 'Relay for Life' quilt, thought with the vibrant colors it is a good picture for Valentine's day. This is such a cheerful quilt, and the back is just as vibrant as the front. Maybe I'll take another picture with the back showing.

I pray you all have a great day, full of love, memories, and joy; that you can say the following quote is true for you too, it really says it all for me ~ or at least most days. :-)

“Even when I'm sick or depressed, I love life.”

Sending lots of Hugs N Prayers to all! Bonnie

Wayne & Beckie Cannaday

Here is a blast from the past. Have a wonderful 28th anniversary

Prayer for Tammy to heal after surgery

Tammy went under surgery today and is going to be out around 12:30 or so. Please pray that she will heal quickly and be able to find the help she'll need afterwards. I plan to go and help some this week with the kids. Also just let her know that God is there with her and that it will all be ok. She is doing so well now and I'm really proud of her and her walk with the LORD. Thanks again everyone for your prayers. Love Raven

Update from Bonnie's Website

Let us continue to lift Bonnie up in prayer.

Prayers are answered once again. My labs were up high enough to get chemo yesterday and I started back on the nexavar this morning. And the good news is my tumor markers are holding steady. They switched me to 1/2 dose of nexavar and only every other day, but still may be enough to work without the side affects getting so awful. Good news huh? :-)

A Love Letter...

About 28 years ago God blessed me with a new family--a really large family :)--made up of many brothers and sisters, a mom and dad, nieces and nephews, and a wonderful daughter!

Time passed and God added to that blessing by giving me even more family...two more wonderful children, five great (as in awesome) grandchildren, a fun son-in-law, a kind DIL and a kind DIL-to-be!

But, sadly, because of work & other challenges of life, I did not always recognize this new family (or even my birth family) as the God-given blessings they were (and are)...and so I often neglected to show that I cared and loved them.
Sometimes I still neglect to do that :(

So on this week leading to St Valentine's Day (the day of love) I want to say that I thank God for all of you and wish you a week (and lifetime) of blessings and love!

God bless you! b

Roseburg's Retired Folk!!

Well, it has been a few days since I updated everyone on what's happening in Roseburg. Margaret and I are doing just fine with retirement. This morning we did "Our Thing" at the YMCA, then we got to baby set Sammy.

We had lots of fun playing with Sammy while Amy took Jack to the library for "Story Time". As you can see by the photo (teary eyes)to the left, Sammy wasn't a very happy camper when we decided to take away his binky. Sammy finally "Got over it!" after grandma gave him a Graham Cracker.

Otherwise, nothing much has been happening here in Roseburg. How are all of you doing this week? I hope everyone of you are doing well. I always look forward to the updates on everyone. Got to go now, so don't be bashful about POSTING and maybe even set up a Picasa Photo Gallery for all to enjoy your family photographs. God bless, Lloyd

Grace 2-3-2009

I am glad you like the pictures, the last one (with the tongue) took some time to get but well worth it. She kept sticking it out at me but as soon as she saw my phone (to take a picture) she sucked it back in. Already camera shy. I just got her a bumbo chair, it helps babies who can support there heads sit upright. Next time I sit her in it I will take a picture for you. It's rather cute but she only likes it half the time. Whenever I sit her up almost like she is lounging she tries to sit up all the way. She is getting stronger. And laughing nearly everyday, still not a deep chuckle but very cute. So as of right now she is all too sweet to be like her daddy ☺ E-mail from Jennifer
