Colorado Cannadays

Well the time has come for Christopher to leave. He has been gone since the 13th and will be in Afghanistan for a year albeit a two week return to the states, time not disclosed. So with Alayna being in Oregon, Grace and I bum around trying to fix everything that decided to break not 24 hours after his departure. This includes the sink, the dryer and the lighting in the bathroom. Before the end I will figure out how to do anything and everything around here. Although the neighbor is going to come over and show me how to do drywall in our unfinished bathroom, personally I don't want to deal with holes in walls for the duration of Chris's leave.
My sister and her boyfriend took a road trip down here to visit us, they have already returned home but it was a lovely visit. Grace took a real liking to both of them (and even has a baby crush on Ted, so much that she calls him MyTed). Now the house is quiet once again, and has been oddly so. While my house is clean and peaceful I feel as if it is too much. Grace seems to be taking to it well enough. We spend a lot of time working in the yard and riding her tricycle as our weather is always sunny and warm (unlike you poor Oregonians). The real challenge has been cooking for one, essentially. But we have cut out most meat and packaged goods and completely overhauled our variety of cupboard goods... oh will the boy be surprised when he comes home.
I am told that Chris arrived and will hopefully be hearing from him soon, if you'd like I can post on here when, and if, that happens.

Picnic with the Grandkids

While Margaret was away on her woman's retreat, I had a wonderful day at the Wildlife Safari with Trey, Bill and all of the grandkids. We started out with a picnic lunch then we looked at the animals in the walk-through park. As you can see in the above slideshow, everyone had lots of fun.
