Getting ready for Jesus' Birthday

Hello family,
We are getting ready for Jesus' birthday here in Bend. We are supposed to get dumped on tonight, maybe a few inches of the white stuff. The pass blizzard conditions made Wes' swim team cancel their meet at North Bend. They are pretty bummed about that. The kids are all doing well in school. Jessica is sporting a new hair cut and highlights because she brought her grades up. Now I'm sure Courtney will pick her grades up!!! She really got her nose bent out of shape.

I finished our shopping yesterday, feeling very fortunate especially since twice we have been touched by people in church and the community who are having it pretty tough this year. One family has four small children living in their neighbor's garage with no heat (Jim's gonna fix their pellet stove so they can have some heat) and the other are barely in a house with the father recently losing his job--- they too have four children. We are doing all we can to help these two families out.....just doesn't seem like enough. Courtney is parting with some toys she got when she was younger --littlest pet shop and bratz dolls/cars....Jessie has offered up her karaoke machine and CD player and some other gagets...easy bake ovens and such.....Wes is digging around too to find something to donate to these families. We are so blessed. Please put these families and many others going through a pretty rough time in your prayers. Take care,
Love Marty, Jim, Wes, Jessica, and Courtney

  1. Hello little sister. So happy to hear that you, Jim and family are all doing well. This is the time of year that makes us all think of the blessings our Lord has given each of us. Thank you for the wonderful POST that shows that your family's heart are on Heavenly things. It is so easy sometimes to tell someone ,who is down and out, that we will pray for them, but when we actually help them out with their needs it is always God's will. Take care and have a Merry Christmas. Love always, your big (older) brother, Lloyd

  4. I miss Christmas with the kids when they were younger, not so influenced by what "everybody" has and what's "cool" or in style....

  5. I know...I miss those days too!
Your kids are doing pretty well to want to meet the needs of others by giving them their own stuff. Keep up the good work and pray!
    Blessings, b
