Happy Birthday to you.
Happy Birthday to you.
Happy Birthday dear Trey.
Happy Birthday to you.
Love Always, Mom and Dad

Bill, Amy and the boys joined us tonight to celebrate Trey'sbirthday.  As you can see, Trey got a magic wand to make himself younger,a "Over the Hill Whistle" to carry around in case he falls downand can't get up, and a "I'm 40" baseball cap.  The cake and icecream was served in black color plates and everyone had black color napkins. Lots of fun and laughs.

Our Family Retreat 2011

What a great time everyone had on our family retreat at the Crow's Nest in Newport.  We just got back a few hours ago.  I will post some of the pictures later for all to enjoy.  The weather couldn't have been any better.  Warm and sunny all three days.

Somewhere over the Rainbow

I just have to share this with everyone. I love the way IZ sings this song.

Family Blog

What a beautiful day it is here in Roseburg.  Margaret and I are so blessed by the Lord to be able to take off tomorrow to Newport for our yearly family retreat. It is such a blessing to be able to spend three days with our family just hanging out and enjoying each others company.

I haven't seen to much activity on the family blog for quite some time now.  I realize that with facebook and other media blogging takes a backseat.  Our family blog has been up and running now for three years and it has lots of photographs and posts that are nice to go back and look at every now and then.

The whole idea of the family blog was to keep communications open and share what was happening in our families with words and pictures.  I would really like to see more updated posts from everyone, but I do realize that sometimes life gets a little busy.

I have decided to take a survey from family blog members to find out if there is enough support to continue the family blog.  Please take time to cast your vote in the survey box on the right.

Fun at the County Fair!

Margaret and I had a fun day at the Douglas County fair today. We spent the day with Bill, Amy and the boys just hanging out looking at all of the animals and exhibits. We then had lots of fun watching Jack and Sammy riding all of the carnival rides. What a blessing it was just to be able to enjoy the day with Bill, Amy and our grand kids.

The Beauty of Diamond Lake!

We arrived yesterday afternoon at Diamond Lake RV Park. The weather is great and the Lake is beautiful. Margaret and I are planning on taking a tour of Crater Lake today. We will be taking along a picnic lunch and spend the whole day just hanging out together and enjoying God's creation. It is hard to believe that our month vacation is almost up. Tomorrow morning we head back home to Roseburg. It has been a great trip and we have seen lots of country side in our 2500 mile journey around Washington and Oregon. It will be nice to get back home and see our family...miss them all.

Happy Anniversary to my Honey Bun!

Today Margaret and I will have been married for forty-two years. I am so blessed by God that we will be able to celebrate this day together. Sometimes it seems like time goes by so fast, but it really doesn't matter when you are with someone that you love.

We will be heading out this morning on a sightseeing tour of Antelope, Clarno, Fossil, and the John Day Fossil Beds. After that I am going to take my sweetheart out to dinner in Madras. We visited the Crooked River Gorge yesterday. Just looking down over the edge (over 300 feet) made me a little woozy.

We will be heading out to Bend tomorrow morning where we will be visiting with Bonnie and Roy. Hopefully we will be able to see all the other relatives in Bend, but I think Martha and Jim are out of town on a camp trip with the kids.

After we leave Bend, we will be camping at the Diamond Lake RV Park until Friday morning, then we will be heading home. This has been a really great month to travel and we enjoyed a lot of sights in Washington and Oregon.

Back In Oregon!!!

Me and Margaret making our way back to Oregon on a speeder

We got into Metolius yesterday afternoon where we will be staying at the Mt. View RV Park for the next three days.  Metolius is a little town near Madras where we plan on sighting later on this afternoon.  I have updated our photo album, but still haven't had a chance to fill in the captions for each picture.  All I can say is that we are having fun just hanging out with each other and visiting areas where we haven't been before.

We plan on making it to Bend by Wednesday and stay there a few days before heading home.  We have traveled over 1900 miles so far.  Even though we have really enjoyed traveling around Washington and parts of Oregon, we are beginning to miss our family and look forward on seeing them next week.

On The Road Again!

We had a really nice relaxing time here in Leavenworth, but now it's time to move on. The above picture is us taking a rest while walking through all the little shops and displays in the downtown area. What a beautiful place just too walk around and there are so many things to see. We also visited the Cashmere Museum and the Pioneer Village. I got all the pictures uploaded into our album for all to enjoy but it will take sometime to get all the captions filled in.

We will be heading out for Toppenish this morning where we will be staying for four days at the Yakima Nation RV Park. There are several sights in the Yakima and Toppenish area we want to see. I hope everyone is do well and we plan on seeing everyone at the family reunion.
