Skype Chat Room
I thought I would give this chat room a try on our blog. The program is called SKYPE and it needs to be downloaded on your computer to use. After you are in, click on the "Chat with me" icon, then all you need to do is run a search on who you want to join your chat room. Add my name and we can try it out. Hope all is well with everyone. God bless, Lloyd

Thanksgiving with the Family
What a lovely afternoon it was in Roseburg today. Spending Thanksgiving Day with our family was such a blessing. I uploaded several photographs in my gallery for all to enjoy.
I sincerely hope that everyone else enjoyed their Thanksgiving Day as much as Margaret and I did. May God continue to bless each and everyone of you.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
Garrett jr is really sick today with high fever and vomiting everywhere, so please pray he will get better. I'm so thankful for all of you that have kept us in your prayers and that have been there for us as well. I'm thankful for the LORD and all that He has done for us in our family. I've been very blessed to have my dad and I'm thankful for my marriage, our house, our cars, and alot more. Please continue to keep us in your thoughts and prayers. Thanks all of you, I love you. Raven
Happy Thanksgiving!
Despite the uncertainty of these times, we as Americans have much to be grateful for.
The Bible teaches that giving thanks to God is right and that it should be done often.
Giving thanks takes the focus off our current problems and reminds us of all we have been given while it helps to increase our faith in God and in His providence for us in the future.
On this day of thanksgiving what are you thankful for? Good health? Your family? A warm home? Thanksgiving dinner? This beautiful world? Your church? Life itself? The freedom to worship as you choose to? A job? I invite you to join me today and give thanks for something you are grateful for.
Blessings,
A Pilgrim's Child

- My mom, dad, sister and best friend; Hubby's mom and family.
- All my children who have taught me so very much.
- The cross and what it represents.
- And so much more!

Sunny Day Down South
Howdy all of you Family Bloggers. What a nice day Margaret and I had down here in Roseburg. Didn't do much except goof off. Margaret is still fighting a cold, but otherwise she is doing fine. Hope she is over the cold before Thanksgiving.
We drove down to Canyonville this afternoon and enjoyed a few hours of playing BINGO. We didn't win, but it was fun and relaxing.
Anyways. How are all of you doing up in the big city? Hope all is well. Got to go finish fixing dinner. Take care, and may God bless, Lloyd

Hey from home!
Just wanted to say hello to everyone!! This is Chris' mom aka aimee here on blogger.
I think I know where your good weather went Lloyd---that's right--up here!! But usually you have the better weather so I am sure you won't mind us borrowing it for a little while, will you??? Besides it makes for very pretty photos, especially in the autumn!
Chris is out and about checking in with family & friends while he's here. He is planning on seeing Grandma C & Jeannine from what he told me. He's looking good as you can see from the photos I took (on Jeannine's photo area) and is really enjoying being with both of his sweet daughters and beautiful wife!
Oh, I really appreciate all the prayers being sent up for him--it is still a dangerous place over there (despite the fact that you hear about zilch on the news now) and this has been difficult as every mom or dad or spouse or any relative of a deployed Soldier knows. So again TY and keep praying please for my son and those with him!!
Well I need to get back to my blog and update it with another "Walk in HIS Gardens" post so bye and blessings to all! b

Cloudy Day in Roseburg
Good morning to you all. Not much happening here in Roseburg today. Margaret is down with a bad cold so I'm trying to stay clear. Just got back from the "Y" so I'm taking a coffee break right now. I'll probably clean my garage today being Margaret doesn't feel like doing much.
How is everyone else doing? I noticed that the visitor counter is going to hit 800 pretty soon. With the list of Author's on this blog it seems like there would be more Post's. Well, got to go. Take care and may God bless, Lloyd

Good Morning to All
What a lovely day it is. Margaret and I did our thing down at the YMCA and I really think that it might be doing us good. We are going to go and have a brunch then play a little BINGO. I have several things I need to do around the house, but that is the good part about being retired, you can work and play anytime you want too.
How is the rest of the family doing these days? Hope everyone is well. Got to go, so "POST" when the urge hits. Take care and may God bless, Lloyd

Update from Bonnie
Bonnie & Toby
No Chemo ended up maybe being a good thing, as I wasn't doing the best on Friday. I think maybe it was from my counts being so low. Every time I was standing more than 4-5 minuets it felt like I was going to faint, I was so weak and had a terrible headache. Then on Saturday I was a bit better, but on Sunday not well again, today feeling better again.
Thursday, November 20, 2008 9:06 AM CST
Chemo is on for tomorrow morning! My labs were still kind of low but high enough for my Dr to okay chemo tomorrow. :-)

Fun day with Sammy
Thursday, November 13, 2008
Good Morning
How are all the bloggers doing today? Margaret and I just got back from the YMCA. Did our aerobics and played in the swimming pool. Not much planned for today. We go down to the church about 10am for some volunteer work, then this afternoon at about 4pm we get to babysit Sammy. Sammy will spend the night with us, so I'll probably have a few photo's to bore everyone with tomorrow morning. Well, got to go. Take care and God bless, Lloyd

Bonnie Lemke (UPDATE)
Update from Bonnie:
Wednesday, November 12, 2008 3:04 PM
UPDATE: I just got the call that if Medicare doesn't cover this treatment it will be covered by the drug company. Can finally uncross my fingers and toes and maybe not go threw quite as many kleenex. Chemo is scheduled for tomorrow morning. Thanks for all the prayers!!
Update from Bonnie:

NO CHEMO ~ How frustrating! After driving all the way down to Masonic, my lab results came back to low. I couldn't believe it, still hard to understand. Looking back at previous lab reports they haven't been this low since the first week in September, when I was still recovering from the transplant. Just do not understand what is happening to my body or what to expect anymore. Last week, on Thursday, I could have had chemo.
Please continue to pray that Bonnie's lab results with return normal so she can begin her chemo. God bless, Margaret & Lloyd

"Family Blog Pictures"
You will notice to the right a new area called "Family Blog Pictures". I have added Rusty & Herbietta's photos there. I thought if anyone else would like to post some family photos on this blog for all to view you can send me your Picasa Web Album Gallery URL.
To open up a Picasa Web Album, do the following:
Go to your Blogger Dashboard, click on "My Account". Then click on "Picasa Web Albums" and sign up. I would suggest that you post your photographs as "Unlisted" instead of "Public". After you have setup your account "upload" photographs from your computer into your album. You are better off in making just one album, that way you can keep adding photos when you get them. Each album will hold 500 photos.
When your photo's are "uploaded", click on the "Share" icon and email me the invatation to view your photo album. I will then add your album to the "Family Photo Gallery" for all to enjoy.
If you have any questions, just give me a call. God bless, Lloyd

God's Blessings
Sometimes in this life we can start feeling sorry for ourself because things just did not work out the way we planned them. But I'm telling you now, all we need to do is open our eyes and look at all the blessings God has given each and everyone of us.

Grandma's Pride and Joy
Jack and Sammy visited us this evening while their mom and dad went out to see a play at UCC. As you can see in the above picture, both Jack and Sammy are really listening intensely to the movie (Charlotte's Web) that was put on so grandma and grandpa could relax. It is so much fun having the boys over at the house.
Bonnie Lemke
A special prayer request goes out to Bonnie for God's intervention. Medicare has denied her coverage of the drug she needs for treatment because it was not FDA approved for ovarian cancer. Bonnie has been through so much and has been a blessing for all. See Bonnie's website.

Fun Playing with Sammy
Today wasn't to bad. I got up early and worked out at the YMCA, then went home and had fun with Sammy. Margaret hurt her back last week, so the doctor told her that she had to stay away from the YMCA for a week or so until it heals.
Anyways, Margaret and I enjoyed playing with Sammy for a few hours. Thursday's are the days that Amy takes Jack to the library, so we get to watch Sammy. The video is Sammy playing with his singing lion.

Happy 47th Anniversary
Herbietta & Rusty 11-4-08
Hello one last time from the ship,
Today is our last day of our cruise. We will be in Los Angeles tomorrow morning. At present the ship has gone 4754.4 nautical miles and we have 236.4 more to go before reaching our destination in Los Angeles. Today we are celebrating our 47th anniversary. Last night we celebrated it with Colin and Nancy whom we met from Calgary. They were celebrating their 55th. This was their first cruise. Tonight we plan for just the two of us to go to Sabatini's, one of the specialty restaurants on board. Before turning in tonight we have to be all packed and our bags set outside the door. All luggage other than our carry ons will be picked up and taken to another location and we will not see it again until we get off the ship. Then we will take it through customs and then of course again at the airport. We will probably be at the airport by noon and our plane doesn't leave until about 5pm. Going to be a Loooooong day.
This has been a wonderful trip but a long one. It will be good to get home and see family and our critters again. This has been one of the roughest trips we have taken. It isn't horrible but the ship has been rocking nearly the whole distance. Generally there is some but not constant. Still, in all it was great. Didn't gt sick anyway. We are uploading some more pictures this evening so hope they are showing up alright. Take care, Love & Hugs to you all and will be seeing some of you soon.

Lovely Day in Roseburg
Good morning everyone. Hope all is well with the family. Haven't seen any post from some family members, and lots from others. Thanks to all who contribute to keep us all informed on the "happenings" of our little world.
Margaret and I just got back from the YMCA. I can't believe that we have actually stuck with it now for about three months. I think I'm getting strong enough to lift up my grand kids now. We plan on going to BINGO this afternoon, but otherwise, not much planned for the day.
Being we are getting a lot of rain, I can't work outside on the landscaping (Yippee). However, one of my jobs this week is to clean the garage so I can find all my tools.
Anyways, all of you have a blessed day and let us bloggers know how life is treating you. Take care and may God bless.

Herbietta & Rusty 11-2-08
Hello again from the Coral Princess
Since our last upload we have been to Costa Rica,Nicaragua, Guatemala and Mexico. We didn't take a shore excursion in Costa Rica but we did get off the ship and walked around. Got several pictures. The weather was quite warm. Did a bit of shopping and then headed back to the ship. Will order my Britt coffee from the ship. They are offering a bit of a deal. In Nicaragua we took a bus and boat tour. Lunch was included. I didn't especially like it. Rusty thought it ok. I was glad to see that others left food on their plates also. The boat trip was very nice. It took you through a bunch of islands, almost any little patch of land had a house of some kind on it. From shack to mansion. In Guatemala we went to the Filadelphia Coffee Plantation. It was very interesting and probably one of our best days out. When in the town of Antigua, there was at least 4 times that the bus had to do some fancy maneuvering to get down the narrow streets. It took all three of them, the driver, assistant and guide working at it . In Mexico we didn't take a shore excursion either. We were only there from noon to 4pm. Did get off the ship and got pictures. Now we are at sea for the next three days heading for Los Angeles. Until later, Love & Hugs to you all
